SUMMARY:Laguna Palooza - No Square Theatre
DESCRIPTION:The show formerly known as LagunaTots has grown up. Laguna Palooza is an original\, family-friendly musical spoof (think “Lagunatics Junior”) that takes aim at the challenges of being a kid in our town. The show opens on Friday\, March 13\, and runs through Sunday\, March 22. Laughs and outstanding performances are guaranteed. \nThe show is written and directed by Ella Wyatt\, with music direction by Susan Geiser and choreography by Ella Wyatt and Lula Buckle. \nThe young Laguna Palooza performers (some well past “tot” status) are talented beyond their years\, as evidenced by the recent Open Mic Night at No Square Theatre. A few Laguna Palooza cast members put their chops on display in knock-your-socks-off performances that brought the cheering audience to its feet. \nPerformances include:\nFriday\, March 13 at 7 p.m.;\nSaturday\, March 14 at 2 p.m.;\nSunday\, March 15 at 6 p.m.;\nFriday\, March 20 at 7 p.m.;\nSaturday\, March 21 at 2 p.m.;\nSunday\, March 22 at 6 p.m. \nTickets are $12 – $35. For tickets and more information about No Square Theatre\, go to www.nosquare.org.

SUMMARY:OC Restaurant Week 2020
DESCRIPTION:If you’re a foodie\, you already know what I’m about to tell you because you’ve been looking forward to this week for … ehrm … 51 weeks since it last occurred. \nO.C. Restaurant Week returns March 8th-14th for seven days of significant feeding at 100 Orange County restaurants that span from La Habra to San Clemente. \nYou can check out all the restaurants participating by city at OCRestaurantWeek.com but\, given that Laguna Beach is considered the culinary mecca of Orange County\, I figure you have plenty of discovering to do right here in your own backyard. \nEight of Laguna’s restaurants are jumping into the foodie fray\, most of which have produced both lunch and dinner prix fixe menus at pricing well below their everyday pricing. Participants include newcomer Fishbone\, OC’s #1 Steak restaurant Royal Hawaiian Fire Grill\, and other longtime favorites – Lumberyard\, Mozambique\, Nirvana Grille\, Sapphire\, Skyloft and Starfish. \nI’ll be featuring menu items as soon as they’re published\, but be sure to make dinner reservations as soon as possible. This is easily the busiest week for these restaurants in the month of March! \n

SUMMARY:Kahuna Concert with Common Sense - San Clemente
DESCRIPTION:Kahuna Cares Foundation\, a local nonprofit providing support for organizations that help enrich the lives of people with special needs\, will host the 5th annual Kahuna Concert for a Cause on Saturday\, March 7\, at 6 p.m. at OC Tavern in San Clemente. Laguna Beach’s own Common Sense\, led by Nick Hernandez\, will headline the event. \nKahuna Concert for a Cause raises money for people with special needs. In doing so\, Kahuna Cares also pays tribute to the late Terry “Tubesteak” Tracy\, who sparked the inspiration for the role of the Big Kahuna in the Gidget movie craze\, honoring his legacy of love for local organizations that help the special needs community. He was the inspiration for his daughter\, Jennifer Tracy\, to found Kahuna Cares Foundation. \nEvery year over 500 people attend this community event. This year the concert includes the musical stylings of Laguna Beach’s own Common Sense\, The Pollen Collective of San Clemente\, and a performance by special guest Brandon Jenner of Malibu. \nCommon Sense is homegrown. Guitarists Sherman and Gough and the band’s lead singer Nick Hernandez all attended Laguna Beach High School together. Every year the band has performed at the Kahuna Concert for a Cause to support Kahuna Care’s mission of helping local programs for individuals with special needs. \nFunds raised from the event will benefit organizations that help enhance the lives of people with special needs – Surfers Healing\, San Clemente High School STEPS Program\, and Teri College. \nFor more information and to purchase tickets to the concert\, visit www.kahunacaresfoundation.org or call (949) 370-1083. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. \nOC Tavern is located at 2369 S El Camino Real\, San Clemente.
