DESCRIPTION:I love the Winter “Sawdust” more than our summer affair\, the Sawdust Art Festival (which I happen to like a lot). Aside from 170 artists’ booths in this cool outdoor setting\, you have a “Towne Square (sorry grownups\, this is kid-size only)\, live bands and chorales\, wandering carolers\, plenty of hot\, steamy drinks (along with quality beer and wine) and\, of course\, Santa for all those last-minute requests. \nDates are: November  23rd\, 24th\, 29th and 30th from 10am-7pm – note it’s open on just one Friday\, the day after Thanksgiving.\nDecember  1st\, 7th\, 8th\, 14th\, 15th\, 20th\, 21st and 22nd from 10am-7pm \nFor me\, the Winter Fantasy Festival is most memorable because the majority of artists focus on gift-giving items. You’ll still have gargantuan paintings and sculptures here and there\, but you’ll see a greater supply of handmade jewelry\, scarves\, reasonably priced framed photos and paintings\, pottery and Raku\, garden accessories and everything else gifty-minded. \n

SUMMARY:Crystal Cove Holiday Festival
DESCRIPTION:The community is invited to join Crystal Cove Conservancy for its 23rd annual holiday winter family festival and tree lighting on Saturday\, Dec 7th. The celebration will feature Orange County’s only “on the beach” holiday tree and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Tree lighting will be at approximately 5:15 p.m.\, after sunset. \nThe Historic District will be decorated with traditional mid-century décor to bring the holiday magic to Crystal Cove. \nFestivities begin at 10 a.m. with a seasonal bazaar featuring handcrafted treasures by local residents and artists as well as old-fashioned holiday decorations. The excitement builds when Santa arrives from the North Pole and makes his grand entrance on the shores of Crystal Cove at 4 p.m. Family photos can be taken with Santa and/or on the sand in front of the tree. \nStrolling carolers from Costa Mesa High School  will join the event at 3 p.m.\, and complimentary hot chocolate\, apple cider and The Beachcomber Café will provide home baked goodies. Guests are encouraged to wear their holiday sweaters and festive wear. \nGuests can park at the Los Trancos parking lot on the inland side of Pacific Coast Highway or at the Pelican Point lots north of the Historic District lot for $5 per hour or for a maximum of $15 for the entire day. The Beachcomber shuttle bus will be available from the Los Trancos parking lot for $1.50 each way. Additional shuttle service will also be available from the Pelican Point parking lots (P-1\, P-2\, P-3\, P-4). Carpooling or car services like Uber or Lyft are recommended as the Los Trancos parking lot usually fills to capacity. \nCrystal Cove is located at 8471 North Coast Hwy.

DESCRIPTION:Our Laguna Beach annual Hospitality Night happens Friday\, Dec. 6th\, 5-10 p.m. Normally\, it’s one of the coolest parties we have going on each year\, and we have thousands of visitors join us to celebrate. \nWhile Santa’s arrival at 6:00 p.m. is definitely a plus\, there’s a heck of a lot more going down. Just about all Laguna Beach stores are open with wine\, hors d’ouevres\, and cookies (be sure to hit the Laguna local favorite\, Lumberyard\, to meet up with many neighborly friends. Just about every bar and restaurant offers specials all night. Live music crowds are milling everywhere\, too. \nStreet closures downtown begin at 3:30 p.m.! \nFree trolleys will be operating from all the usual parking stations in the Canyon and in North and South Laguna Beach\, and they’ll be trolling regularly up and down PCH the entire evening from 4 – 11 p.m. \nThe non-stop activities start at 5 p.m. and continue at a brisk pace with holiday fun on every corner until approximately 10 p.m. The festivities will take place in the Peppertree Lot (Lot 2)\, where Santa Claus will arrive to greet holiday revelers before the tree lighting at 6:10 p.m. \nAfter the tree is lit\, the Community Services Department has arranged activities for the community including music by the Thurston Middle School band\, a community sing-along\, cookie decorating\, arts and crafts\, and letter writing to the troops. \nOf course\, Santa will be in his house on lower Forest Ave to meet families for photos. Downtown merchants\, nonprofit organizations\, and the Chamber of Commerce will also provide activities\, open houses\, and live musical entertainment. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:The Laguna Beach Fire Department\, in partnership with Southern California Firefighters and ABC7\, is again taking part in the annual Spark of Love Toy Drive. \nThe campaign collects new\, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for underserved children and teens in Orange\, Los Angeles\, San Bernardino\, Ventura\, and Riverside counties. Toys collected in the respective counties are distributed locally. \nThe number of toys generously donated in 2018 is a testament to our wonderful community \nThis year marks the 27th anniversary for the Firefighters’ Spark of Love campaign\, which will run through Tuesday\, Dec 24. The Laguna Beach Fire Department has been involved since the program’s inception and each fire station will serve as drop-off sites for new\, unwrapped toys or sports equipment. \nDrop off your new\, unwrapped toys or sports equipment to any of Laguna Beach’s four fire stations.
