Far closer than the Newport Boat Parade and a heck of a lot more . . . creative, the 40th Annual “Fantasea Holiday” Dana Point Boat Parade kicks off this Friday, Dec. 5th. The popular Dana Point Boat Parade – now coupled with the ongoing debut of IlluminOcean at the harbor – takes place Dec. 5th and 6th, and next weekend. Dec. 12th and 13th. It’s a mob of happy people quite similar to the 4th of July crowds that converge on the harbor, but this time, we’re all crunching on candy canes and wearing our Ugg boats and Santa scarves no matter what the weather. Best recommended viewing if you want to sit in a warm place? Try snagging a table (at about 3:00 p.m.) at Wind & Sea or at prix fixe tables ($95 per person) at the new Waterman’s 2-story edifice by the Catalina Express launch point.
