[singlepic id=388 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=right]Each Friday in September, the City of Laguna Beach is hosting “Sunset Serenades” at one of the prettiest points in Heisler Park – what we locals call “Picnic Beach” or “Picnic Park” (depending on how close you sit to the water, I suppose).
The Serenades offers a live band during the sunset hours, from 5:30 to about 7:00ish. Local favorites, “The Girls” will be playing this Friday, Sept. 15th. Next Friday (Sept. 25th) offers great live jazz from the Evan Stone Trio.
The Girls is a super-talented, folksy kind of trio featuring Carolyn Miller, Sue Bredice and Beth Fitchet Wood (who, incidentally, is also quite well known as a longtime singer for the band, Honk.
Fabulous weather and equally compelling sunsets have been our mainstay this week – so, grab a picnic blanket and some treats and head on down.
How to Find Sunset Serenades at Heisler Park
From Laguna’s Main Beach (the first big beach at Broadway and PCH), if you’re walking, Heisler begins at the top of the stairs to the north of the beach. Ramble past Las Brisas and continue to Myrtle – Picnic Park is right there. Or, if you’re driving, head down Cliff Drive, just a half mile north of Broadway and find street parking around the cross street, Myrtle.
