For a return visit, Taste of the Nation is circling back around to the Montage Resort this Sunday, May 17th for its “No Kid Hungry” endeavor through the Share Our Strength foundation.

This is not a small endeavor by any stretch.

For 27 years, Taste of the Nation has toured the entire country with culinary events highlighting great chefs while, at the same time, spotlighting the fact that 1 in 5 U.S. kids doesn’t get the daily food they need. This is just one “gala” event of many programs the foundation offers at their website, NoKidHungry.org.

This is the 8th year that Taste of the Nation has come to Laguna Beach, one of just a few cities in California to host the event. And, after great success last year, Chef Craig Strong and his culinary crew are once again at the helm with other celebrity chefs from all parts of the country. (I reviewed Chef Craig Strong in the dining section just this last week. Just check StuNews “Archives” if you missed it.)

I hope we’re able to enjoy some of Chef Craig’s latest menu additions, but we will have plenty of other sumptuous fare, along with samplings of rare wines and premium cocktails. If you purchase the VIP ticket, you’re also invited to a post-Taste event with champagnes, after dinner wines and treats, and a mix-and-mingle with the chefs.

This is not an average kind of festival, so advance tickets are pricier at $250 for General Admission and $275 for VIPs. The ticket, however, is tax deductible and – beyond that – you will be part of the effective initiative to end childhood hunger in the country.
