Now, it’s time to address the edgier, (sometimes insane) element of motorcycle and mountain bike racers in our lives … and the Troy Lee helmets that are as unique as they are.
As a teenager, Troy Lee began painting motocross helmets in his parent’s garage. Now, 30 years later, Troy Lee Designs is recognized as the premier custom helmet and accessories shop for NASCAR, Motocross, Freestyle, Dirt Track and any rider in between. The guy has partnerships with just about every imaginable part, gear and accessory company around – they love him out there.
Troy was a racing pro here in Southern California, so it made sense to start his shops here in the O.C. While he’s expanded worldwide, and has bits and pieces of his work in stores like Laguna Cyclery, Troy decided to do a full-on store here in Laguna Beach last September. Crouched between wine tasting shops and florists, the Troy Lee Designs shop is sleek testosterone, bar none.
His many, many signature helmets are certainly a great draw – click on the photo here for a zoom view – but be sure to check out watches, goggles, and clothing lines, including his renowned Steve McQueen line of t-shirts.
