Given the number of giant events and parties we have in this town, it’s always surprised me that someone hasn’t stepped in with a retail shop that only and always offers classy decor solutions for every kind of party.

Enter Jenn McCoy, who’s celebrating a grand opening of her shop, Socal Event Decor, this coming Saturday, Aug. 10th, with an open house from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. She’s been doing this event decor kind of thing for years in New York and decided it was time for a change of pace and a new coastline. Fortunately, she moved her popular business across all the states in between, and will continue to handle just about anything you can throw at her, from baby showers to toddler to really-old-birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs, giant weddings, non-profit galas and more. And she does it in a super classy, creative way.

Check out her new shop this Saturday. Even if you don’t have a party in mind … you’ll probably find a reason once you’re there. Her shop is at 31678 S. Coast Highway in South Laguna. It’s about a block south of Coyote Grill and in the small retail strip that includes South Swell Donuts (landmark, yes), and Ocean Nails.
