On Tuesday evening this week, I was invited to be part of a glorious book signing event at the Lumberyard for Suzanne Redfearn, the new author of the already-popular Hush Little Baby (you can find it at Laguna Beach Books).
This was a “residents’ party” at its finest, and was a great time to reconnect with people I haven’t seen since we all went underground at the start of the tourist season. And, as I was chatting with folks and overhearing other conversations, I was pleased to hear more than a couple groups talking about the upcoming Laguna Nursery Cabaret this Friday, Oct. 18th.
This time around, longtime favorite Saif Eddin is returning, and tickets for the show have been going unusually quickly.
The Cabaret was yet another brainchild of Owner Ruben Flores, who wanted to introduce the town to his nursery “after hours.” For a few years now, Ruben has been bringing in great singing and piano talent, and all sorts of delectable food and drink is included in a great evening of listening and sing-along.
The Cabaret occurs about every 6-8 weeks, and is usually sold out in advance. The event happens right inside the nursery – grand piano and all – and pricing is just $25 in advance or $35 at the door. Doors open at 6:30 and music plays till 10:30 p.m. Call the nursery for tickets at (949) 494-5200.
