Last night after the Art Auction at the Laguna Art Museum, I dropped in to The Broadway Restaurant to say hello to Chef Amar and General Manager Ahmed. As usual, the place was rocking, but Ahmed squeezed in a quick chat to catch me up on the latest.
As it turns out, the Broadway’s Valentine’s Day menu sold out in a matter of days. After turning away a handful of disappointed Valentine diners, Ahmed decided to get creative, instead. So, on Wednesday, Feb. 12th, The Broadway Restaurant is offering a sort of “2nd, Pre-Valentine’s Day” by way of a fabulous wine dinner, pairing Chef Amar’s unique menu with Billecart-Salmon Champagne.
Marrying Billecart-Salmon’s various champagnes to a five-course dinner isn’t necessarily easy, but Chef certainly makes it look easy. After hors d’oeuvres in a Wine and Champagne Reception, diners start with Octopus Carpaccio, and then move into Seared Maine Scallops and Crisp Poussin dishes for the main entrees. Dessert is a sublime Almond Milk Panna Cotta and Strawberry-Rose Sorbet, paired this time with the Billecart-Salmon Demi-Sec Champagne.
The Broadway Restaurant Wine Dinner is $130 per person (excluding tax and gratuity). Make your reservations at (949) 715-8234.
