Charm House Tour in Laguna Beach

The longtime Charm House Tour in Laguna Beach is changing it up this year by featuring spectacular homes in South Laguna Beach.

Each year, and always on the Sunday after Mother’s Day (this year the 19th), the Village Laguna folks roll out an impressive tour of 5 homes. One of Laguna’s finest features lies in the fact that no two houses are the same in this eclectic berg, and the Charm House Tour in Laguna Beach makes this quite evident. For many years, hundreds have flocked to the Tour; it makes for a fun afternoon of new architecting and decor ideas.

This year’s tour includes my favorite house in my own neighborhood (pictured – my dear neighbor and friend has done all the interior design work), along with a recently expanded cottage, a Spanish Colonial Revival style,  a Craftsman-style home, and what we call “The Floating Glass House” that sits above the waves of Laguna Beach.

Tickets are $45 in advance and normally sell out prior to the event
They are available online at Village Laguna’s website, or at a number of retailers in town including:
Downtown: the Copy & Print Center Hotel Laguna, Rock Martin Custom Jewelry and Fawn Memories
Central Laguna: Cottage Furnishings
The HIP District: Laguna Beach Books, Casa del Camino, Laguna Nursery
South Laguna: Monarch Bay Optometry

Normally, the Charm House Tour shuttles load passengers at the Festival grounds in Laguna Canyon. Not so this year. Because we’re southbound this year, the tour is providing the tour busses at Mission Hospital (PCH & 7th Avenue).  (Free parking is allowed for Tour participants at the hospital’s parking structure.

At any time from noon to 5:00 p.m., Tour participants can drop in at their leisure, so no need to bustle out there to be on the busses at noon. The tour itself is about 1.5 – 2 hours in length, so choose a time, take a buddy, and enjoy yourself!
