In its annual Art & Nature festival, Laguna Art Museum presents special exhibitions, a commissioned outdoor work of art, lectures, panel discussions, films, and family activities on the theme of art’s engagement with the natural world.

On November 3, 2018, Elizabeth Turk’s Shoreline Project will bring together 1,000 volunteer performers for a site-specific performance in Laguna Beach. The project is the commissioned work of art for Laguna Art Museum’s sixth annual Art & Nature, and will take place at sunset on Main Beach. With LED-illuminated umbrellas designed as an evolution of the artist’s Seashell X-ray Mandala series, the 1,000 performers will converge on the shoreline in both spontaneous and choreographed movement. Shoreline Project will create a shared common experience amongst the performers and an engaging spectacle for viewers from the surrounding cliffs and buildings.
