In my resident’s book, the official “start” whistle for summer blows when the May Sunset Serenades begin at Heisler Park.
That, my friends, means that summer has already begun with Trapdoor Social leading the way on May 8th. The concerts all take place at the Heisler Amphitheatre just off of Cliff Drive.
Bring food. Bring blankets. Bring your kids. This is a popular resident’s event and a happy and lucky find for visitors just passing by.

May 22 – Jason Harnell (jazz) – one of the most sought-after jazz drummers/educators/composers on the West Coast and a mainstay on the Los Angeles jazz scene for more than 20 years.
May 29 – John Troy (local favorite singer and songwriter) – an original member of the Jon Pousette-Dart band, Troy had toured with Natalie Cole, Joe Cocker and Billy Joel, finally deciding to break out as a solo artist back in his homeland of So Cal.
