Laguna Beach Live! recently announced its new line up for its jazz season series, Jazz Wednesdays Winter 2016. The season returns to our Laguna Canyon cool event facility [seven-degrees], 891 Laguna Canyon Rd. for seven concerts, January 20 – April 13.
This upcoming jazz season tops them all as every one of these concerts will be an undoubted toe-tapper. And, frankly, it’s a great way to warm up and shake up the January blues!
The Series kicks off on January 20 with the great Latin Jazz Syndicate, featuring Bijon Watson on trumpet.
Feb 3rd is Guitarist Peter Sprague, one of the great jazz guitarists of our time.
On Feb 17th, it’s a “Local Legends” concert, featuring the Ron Kobayashi Trio with vocalist Daryl Walker.
On March 2nd, it’s the return of the popular Braziliian guitarist & vocalist Teka.
On March 16th, it’s critically acclaimed vocalist Sarah Gazarek with pianist Josh Nelson accompanying.
On March 30th, it’s a tribute to Freddie Hubbard & Wayne Shorter featuring Ricky Woodard on saxophone and Bijon Watson on trumpet plus special guests.
And, closing the season on April 13 is none other than the Jeff Hamilton Trio with Hammond B-3 sensation Akiko and Graham Dechter on guitar.
Concerts will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., and a full bar and buffet dinner menu will be available for purchase. Tickets in advance are $20, and $25 at the door. The season’s subscription is $140 for all 7 concerts.
