When LagunaBeachLive.org made the decision to move its popular summer Jazz Wednesdays from the Hotel Laguna, its founders weren’t sure they were going to be able to fill “all that new space.”
“When we moved from the Hotel’s Rose Garden to The Ranch, we went from 135 seats to a potential of 300 seats,” says Laguna Beach Live’s Cindy Prewitt. “I think we all wondered if we were going to be able to more than double our audience.”
Great jazz, though, will always pack them in.
And, true to its proven record, Laguna Beach Live! has contracted some of the greatest jazz talents in North America for its 7-week Jazz Wednesdays run.
Couple this every-other-Wednesday event with the extraordinary backdrop of The Ranch (formerly Aliso Creek Inn), and you have a superb summer evening event.
And, tickets are just $15 per person when purchased in advance at http://www.LagunaBeachLive.org
The first two of this year’s 7-week extravaganza were sold out well before the event occurred. The next event in the series is this coming Wednesday, July 16. While you might think you can wait to pay the $20 door fee, don’t take any chances. It’s easy to purchase tickets online, and you can even request a table to accommodate you and your friends.
Another Stellar Jazz Performance This Wednesday
The Jazz Wednesday audience perches above the first tee of Ben Brown golf course and, from 5 o’clock forward, enjoys an extensive cash bar, a specially-devised menu by The Ranch’s new talent, Chef Camron Woods, and two hours of genius jazz from 6 – 8 p.m.
The last performance (July 30) featured the the awesome John Beasley and his equally-as-talented team.
This week, Aug. 13, it’s sassy jazz vocalist Mel Collins and The Standard Mel band with renowned musicians Pianist Matthew Selby, Bassist Jeff Littleton and Drummer Paul Johnson.
Mel brings back the golden jazz age of the 40s and 50s along with newer sounds of today’s artists. She and her team have performed with Herbie Hancock, Nancy Wilson of Heart, Sammy Davis, Jr., Rosemary Clooney, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Sheena Easton and Gladys Knight, just to name a few! Again, tickets are just $15 per person when purchased in advance at http://www.LagunaBeachLive.org
As Laguna Beach events go, it doesn’t get any better than this. Join the Jazz Wednesday’s throng of fans at The Ranch this summer.
