Seeing the growth and participation in Laguna Beach’s KelpFest each year is like being a proud parent watching a toddler learn how to walk. It’s amazing that this entire festival – sprawling now from Main Beach across PCH to the street behind the library – began with one woman’s determination to reinstate kelp to Orange County’s waters.
It was a perfectly sunny day on Saturday with hundreds of milling fans and great education all around with KelpFest booths, professional painters, community murals in the making, and Nick I and the ADD band and World Anthem lending their local vocals to a great afternoon of song and dance. Congrats, KelpFest founders, for creating larger awareness every year.
