For 2023, the Laguna Beach 4th of July Fireworks show is once again originating from Monument Point at Heisler Park. Here’s the official scoop:

Closures & Fireworks Schedule
The Point itself will be closed the entire 4th of July day. And, at 5:00 p.m., the area of Heisler Park from Myrtle Street to Rockpile Beach (Jasmine Street) will be closed, too. The Laguna Beach 4th of July show will begin at about 9:00 p.m.
Keep in mind, too, that Emerald Bay’s homeowner’s association does its own fireworks show, and it’s nothing to sneeze at. (Our Emerald bay folks DO know how to party.) It usually begins before the Laguna Beach show, so make sure you’re in place and looking north well in advance of 9:00 p.m.!

Rules of play
If you choose to stake your claim earlier in the day at any of our fine beaches or parks, keep the following rules in mind:

  • No alcohol or smoking on the beaches.
  • No tents, canopies or barbeques.
  • No dogs are allowed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Please don’t even think about setting off your own fireworks (wherever you might be in the city boundaries) as every sign already posted into Laguna Beach tells you this is an illegal activity. They mean it. It’s already a dry season, and the city will have patrols posted everywhere.

Free Trolley Schedule
Laguna Beach free trolley map 2017City trolleys will operate on a MODIFIED SCHEDULE. They DO NOT resume after the show.

Keep this in mind, folks, as you will be hoofing it to wherever your car is parked or residence after the 25-minute show has faded from the night sky.
The Coastal Route will run from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Canyon Route will run 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The The normal trolley schedule will resume on Thursday, July 5th from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Click the following link for more parking information and an interactive map:http://lagunabeachcity.net/cityhall/parking/parking_lots_n_trolley_routes.htm

Now, granted, the City does everything it can to help people exit Laguna Beach after the fireworks show, but if I were you, I’d settle into one of the local pubs or fine food establishments and wait it out about an hour. Even though Laguna Canyon Road will open its center lane to allow for two lanes of traffic OUT of town … trust me … hang out, relax and let the mad dust settle.

Please remember in ALL trolley and shuttle instances that their efficiency and timeliness relies, to some level, on the amount of traffic already clustered in Laguna Beach. Exercise patience and just keep enjoying your day!

Other rules & regs for the day:
Please observe all City park and beach ordinances, including:

  • No alcohol on the beaches
  • No smoking in public places
  • No drone use over City beaches, Heisler Park, Main Beach Park, Treasure Island Park, or Crescent Bay Park without a valid Remote Pilot Certificate issued by the FAA.
  • No tents, canopies, or barbeques are allowed in City beaches or parks.
  • No fireworks of any kind are allowed in Laguna Beach.
  • No dogs are allowed on City beaches from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during the summer season, which extends from June 15 through September 10.
