All those great, historic beachy cottages on Crystal Cove’s sand become one of the most stunning holiday villages I’ve yet seen when the lights come on at sunset this Saturday, Dec. 3rd.

Santa arrives at 4 p.m., and the tree lighting (and lighting of all the cottages there) takes place just after sunset. This is really something you have to see. It’s more live music, food and drink (heavens, and it’s just the 3rd of December, what are we gonna do??), with a classic car show and a fun “snowman” building contest in the sand.

The event is free. Park at the Los Trancos Lot on the east side of PCH (it’s about a mile north of Laguna Beach proper) and either hoof it down through the tunnel or take the shuttle for $1.
