Laguna Beach Music Festival

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the upcoming live jazz season, Jazz Wednesdays, produced by LagunaBeachLive!

As the regular jazz season gets underway, the ever-creative LagunaBeachLive.org is also teaming with a number of sponsoring festival supporters for the 14th Annual Laguna Beach Music Festival. This, once again, promises to be a fantastic view into world class music and global premiers of new compositions.

To launch the weekend, the Festival Prelude takes place on Feb 10th at [seven-degrees]. Here, a number of these world-class musicians will be “up close and personal” for a Mix, Meet & Mingle,” with cocktails, appetizers, a complete dinner and live music previews.

Then, each successive day after is another stellar performance at the Laguna Playhouse.

On Feb. 12th, it’s Bach, Schubert & Beyond, with famed Jennifer Koh on violin and Shai Wosner on piano.

On Feb. 13th, it’s New Global Voice, with Los Angeles-based Wild Up!, with founder/conductor Christopher Rountree, as well as lively return performances and accompaniments from Jennifer Koh and Shai Wosner.

To close the event on Valentine’s Day, the Feb 14th Sunday Matinee Concert will be “Bridge to Beethoven,” again pairing Koh and Wosner for two of Beethoven’s renowned sonatas. Here, we’ll see the world premier of a newly commissioned work by New York-based composer Anthony Cheung, inspired by Beethoven’s sound world.

No surprise that the Music Festival shares its obsession for low-priced tickets to ensure that people of all makes and models can enjoy these nationally renowned acts. Go online for details and ticket prices of all the Festival events at LagunaBeachMusicFestival.com
