On Memorial Day in Laguna Beach you can always count on one thing to remain constant: pancake flipping by Laguna’s finest.
For years now (probably decades), the Laguna Exchange Club teams with Laguna Beach Police and Firefighters to host a $5 pancake breakfast at Heisler Park (Cliff Drive and Myrtle Street). Locals line up by the hundreds, and tourists lucky enough to stumble across the event join right in, too. These guys have been at it so long that they do actually produce a mighty fine pancake.
The Laguna Beach Pancake Breakfast is a major fundraiser for the Exchange Club, with all its proceeds donated to child abuse prevention and community your projects.
Come on down between 7 and 10:30 a.m., and stay for the lovely Memorial Service at Monument Point in Heisler Park at 11 a.m.
Thereafter, the Laguna Concert Band – our own 70-piece full fledged concert band – will perform a free Memorial Day Patriotic Concert at the Main Beach Cobblestones from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
