Mozambique Verndah Laguna Beach

With Santa Ana warmth predicted through our Laguna Beach weekend, there’s no better time to head over to Mozambique’s new Verandah. In fact, if you head there today (Friday), you still enjoy the weekly Happy Hour  cocktail lineup there, too.

An open-air deck on the 3rd floor of Mozambique Steakhouse, the Verandah is a happy edition to a 2nd floor lounge that needed more space for its crowds. On the Mozambique Verandah, you can sit at the bar or any number of tables and enjoy a 300-degree view of Laguna’s sprawling coastline.

While the Mozambique Happy Hour is one of the finest collections in Laguna Beach, its hours are a bit complicated. Pay attention!

Mozambique Happy Hour Hours (and locations!)

During the week, Monday through Friday, the Mozambique Verandah serves Happy Hour Drinks from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Enjoy:

  • All drafts for $3
  • House wines for $5
  • Cocktails and martinis for $6
  • Well drinks, Mojitos and Margaritas for $5

You can order accompanying food through the restaurant’s main menu (which is extensive, to say the least).

In the Mozambique Lounge, it’s Happy Hour every day of the week with drinks AND food. Mondays through Fridays are 3:30 – 6:00. During these five days, the DRINKS part of the happy hour starts from 3:30 – 4:00, and the FOOD part of the Happy Hour is from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. (Got that?) Order your drink first, then order your food. Simple.

In the same Mozambique Lounge, the Happy Hour is available – drinks and food combined – on Saturday and Sundays, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.

The Mozambique Happy Hour Menu is Extensive

I’ve listed the drink specials above. Those are good for both the 2nd floor lounge and the 3rd floor Verandah with the awesome view.

The FOOD portion of the Happy Hour menu is pretty darned amazing. Order a burger, chicken or veggie slider, each $3, or do a combo of 3 with a pile of fries for $10. This alone is enough food for an army.

But, wade further into the menu to find large salads at $5, fish-and-chips or fired/grilled calamari at $7, steak wraps and Samoosas (sort of an empanada) at $7, and a tasty salmon and zucchini ceviche for just $5.

There’s more. For just $10 or $12, you can order a host of full-size meals on the Happy Hour menu, too. These are NOT just bits, bites or tiny drabs of food – this is the entire plate with all its side dishes and sauces. Of course, their Chop House Steak at $12 is one of the most popular entrees, complete with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables and mushroom sauce. But, you have a variety of choices, from a massive monster burger, to grilled pork chops, grilled Barramundi or Talapia, their famous Peri-Peri Chicken, or pasta, prawn or grilled Salmon dishes.

This is one serious, substantial assortment on the Mozambique Happy Hour menu, and is definitely one of the best values in Laguna Beach. Enjoy the new views and the expanded menu, and leave me a few comments on the experience! Have a great weekend.
