Back by popular demand, the family-friendly Pageant of the Monsters returns to the Festival of Arts grounds the weekend preceding Halloween ( Oct. 25, 26, 27) and then on Halloween (the, ehrm, 31st) from 6:00 – 9:30 pm.
The backstage of the Pageant of the Masters is transformed into a haunted house complete with a sinking luxury liner. There are all sorts of “spooktacular” activities, including fortune tellers, an actual alien autopsy (Really truly! Would I lie to you?), spooky face painting, pumpkin printmaking and live music for the adults.
Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The annual haunting event might not be the right venue for kids under 5, and the Pageant asks that, except for Halloween night for kids only, no one show up in costume (for fear they would be dragged into the land of the zombies through pure mistaken identity).
Tickets are available online or by calling the Festival at (800) 487-3378.
