Every day that I trot down to the Laguna Beach Congregational Church to see the growing Sand Mandala, I’m always surprised at how much work has been done. This is what they had accomplished by Saturday afternoon:

The 5 Tibetan monks continue to work tirelessly on this sand painting, starting at about 10:00 and finishing up at about 3:30. They have two more days of work before Tuesday’s dissolution ceremony at 10:00 a.m. While the crowd is growing larger, this is not a shoulder-to-shoulder kind of thing – there’s plenty of room to see the monks working up close, and the event is free.

It’s Sunday now and I’m heading back down to see what awaits! The Congregational Church sits on the corner of Glenneyre and St. Anne’s – it’s a block south of the Ralph’s grocery store and just across the street from my favorite Mexican breakfast joint, Feast. See you there!
