Clearly, the above photo will NOT be happening at the Sawdust Art Festival this year. But they DO have a different solution! While the Festival of Arts, Pageant of the Masters and Art-A-Fair all cancelled their summer seasons this year, the Sawdust leadership worked for weeks on trying to find alternative options.

This week, they announced that they are presenting a “smaller more personal Weekend Outdoor Marketplace, giving patrons the feeling of safety while whisking them into a world filled with art.”

Instead of rows and rows of artist vendor “stalls,” there will be significantly less of these said stalls with 100 artists rotating through the exhibit over the course of the summer. (For some artists, this might be a hearty relief as the usual long Sawdust summer season can be a bit trying. Expect food vendors as well as live music, albeit expect slightly different configurations to allow for better social distancing.

The Sawdust will only be open on weekends only beginning Friday, July 17th through Sunday, August 30th, 10 am to 10 pm.

Stay tuned here for more details.
