Starfish Asian 3rd year party

Starfish Asian Cuisine, the SoLag restaurant that I once tagged, “The little restaurant that could” is celebrating its 3rd Anniversary next Monday with decided aplomb.

“Our first couple years had some ups and downs, but we’ve definitely turned the corner,” says Starfish Co-Owner Gretchen Andrews. “So, we figured it was time to celebrate and thank all the people who helped us get to this point.”

On Monday, June 9th, Starfish will feature its stellar happy hour (“Opium Hour”) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., with live DJ Saltani working his turntable magic from 4 p.m. through closing. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come on in, of course.

At Starfish Asian, Monday nights are also “Industry Night” for anyone in the hotel restaurant and salon industries. During this coming Monday’s celebration, Starfish will still feature its Industry Night “50% off on all food and drink” for each industry professional as well as one guest.

The talented bartenders will be serving up specialty cocktails all night, too, including The Banana Republic and one of my favorites, the Coconut PiniTini (Mixologist Neil Skewes’ snappier, lighter version of a Pina Colada).

It means something when independent restaurateurs make it to the other side, especially in Laguna Beach where restaurant numbers rival our numerous art galleries. Save the Date for Monday, June 9th to congratulate Gretchen, Archie and Chef Marco (and dance the night away, of course).
