[singlepic id=280 w=320 h=240 float=left]As you may know, we’re in the high seas of an ongoing, much debated “Best Margarita in Laguna Beach” contest. I’ve asked you, my beloved readers, for input, and have managed to try a number of the most venerated votes.
At this point, we’ve managed to name SIX margaritas to the “Best of Laguna Beach” list. The first four I’ve already written about …
1. The White House’s margarita ONLY done by Jason the bartender (details here)
2. Royal Hawaiian – “Gary’s Special” (details here)
3. Hotel Laguna’s Terrace – “363 Margarita” (details here)
4. Nick’s of Laguna Beach – Skinny Margarita (details here)
And, after this vote from a reader and trying it myself, we’re now naming the 5th “Best Margarita in Laguna Beach” to the list. This subscriber has done such a great job explaining her research, that I’m adding her entire note here below.
For the 6th margarita to join the Best Margaritas in Laguna Beach list, I’ve agreed to – and added – a real whammie. Once you discover the 5th margarita below, move on to this blog entry for the 6th surprise entry.
Hi Diane,
I have been following your quest for best margaritas in Laguna Beach and must say that it has inspired me to do a little of my own research. Last night a friend and I hit up both El Ranchito and the Lumberyard and our experiences were mixed. We tried El Ranchito’s skinny margarita (they have two– it was the first on their menu) and neither of us were impressed as it tasted watered down and I kept wondering if they’d even used any alcohol.
We then ventured over to the Lumberyard and had their Cadillac Margarita… wow! Needless to say we enjoyed them so much that we felt multiple glasses were in order. I’d never been to Lumberyard before and this was a great first impression. Between the live music and livelier bar, I will definitely be back. Unfortunately I don’t remember the bartender’s name but he had long black hair that he wore in a ponytail– hope that helps! (Editor’s note from Diane: The bartender’s name is Quinn and, yes, he is the bomb.)
This is quite a fun search that I was glad to take part in!
