It’s about 4:00 now in Laguna Beach and it’s a madhouse. If you’re a resident of Laguna Beach and plan to be out tonight, get moving NOW. If you’re thinking of making your way to Laguna Beach, you might already be late for whatever’s waiting here for you.
Tonight is a Perfect Storm of sorts in Laguna Beach … our internationally famous Pageant of the Masters opens tonight at 8:30 in the Canyon. The Laguna Art Museum is debuting not one but THREE new international exhibits. And the monthly Art Walk (first Thursday of every month) is ON.
Then, of course, we have the Sawdust Festival Locals’ Night, a big expo at the Art-Affair and about 19 different events happening on the Pageant grounds at the Festival of the Arts. And, to top it all off, we have about 7 million tourists wandering the streets (which is what our beloved tourists are supposed to be doing, so show some patience out there.)
Just warning you. Wear your tennis shoes and – ladies – carry your high heels in a bag just like they do in the Big Apple. Everyone will think you’ve got it going on, and you’ll thank me tomorrow.
More on details of the upcoming busy weekend in Laguna Beach shortly.
I live in the village part of town and this ‘madhouse’ you speak of was not present at 4:00 p.m. today, nor is it present now at 6:10 p.m. Not sure what part of town you’re referring to, but here at Main Beach and Broadway… nothing of the sort… just another fantastic day with a normal amount of people going about town and having a nice time (traffic isn’t even stopped up on PCH… maybe further up in the Canyon, but that’s every day during festival season). ‘Madhouse’ would best be used to describe the 4th of July at Main Beach, not today (not even close).
Good Evening! How do I submit events for inclusion on your site? I help with the marketing for Laguna Nursery Events and am on the board of Laguna College of Art and Design…. I can also be reached on my cell 818.324.3505.
Thanks!
