[singlepic id=536 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=right]In Laguna Beach this holiday season, our Sawdust Winter Fantasy Festival has just two remaining weekends (See Sawdust Winter Fantasy calendar and Sawdust online ticket purchases). This is such a great annual holiday fest in Laguna Beach, I want to be sure you don’t miss it!
I’ve given you a couple great gift ideas and holiday decor ideas from artists in residence at this year’s Festival – see my Master List of Holiday Gift Ideas – but I have a few more to share with you.
Mike Brennan has the unique distinction of being the youngest artist to ever be admitted to the Laguna Beach Sawdust Festival. He began showing his singular take on Raku pottery at the ripe old age of 16, and has been participating in the annual festival ever since. He began this year’s festival with the looming fear of bare shelves as he’d just come from a very successful festival out of state. But, in a matter of a few days, Mike Brennan had completed a new portfolio of pieces that range in size from desktop gems to pots that stand over 3 feet tall.
[singlepic id=537 w=320 h=240 float=left]I tend to buy Mike’s work for clients, and like to think that I now have clients all over the world with a piece of Laguna Beach housed in their offices or homes. One of these days, I’ll keep one of these fine pieces for me!
As you enter the Sawdust Festival in Laguna Canyon, you’ll find Mike Brennan in a free-standing booth left of the entrance. Click on any of these photos for a closer view. Mike ships his Raku pottery just about anywhere; you can explore further here at his site: http://www.rakuman.com
