Usually at this time of the week, I promote my top five favorite events in Laguna Beach for the weekend, but THIS time, I’m helping you out with cool events and uniquely great places to pick up gifts in Laguna Beach for that annual Valentine’s Day Event,  WHICH OCCURS THIS, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 14th.

. . . OK, so we’re square right ? Here are a bunch of Laguna beach-based ideas for VALENTINE’S WEEKEND & DAY, which is NEXT WEEK. (Guys, I don’t know how this became an important holiday date, but I’m just trying to help you out here.)

Before I list a couple great events, let’s get clear on three important mainstays of Valentine’s Day and where you can shop in Laguna Beach to get one (or all three) handled: Flowers in Laguna Beach, Chocolate in Laguna Beach and Lingerie in Laguna Beach:

If you want to create your own unique Valentine’s bouquet of super-fresh flowers … Check out Browne’s Flowers in the little white flower shack …

Before you buy that store-bought stale chocolate stuff … Check out Laguna Beach’s most popular handmade chocolate shop here: The Chocolate Soldier or the newest newcomer to Laguna Beach here: Casey’s Gourmet Cupcakes

Before you buy lingerie from one of those chain stores … Check out one-of-a-kind, custom made lingerie pieces and “adventurous” limited designer outfits here: Romantic Boutique in Laguna Beach.

Then, consider these Valentine Events:

Thursday, Feb. 14th – Valentine’s Sunset Wildlife and Beach Nature Walk. Explore the sea animals in the tidepools with a local naturalist. Learn about local marine life as you spot sea lions, seals, dolphins and even whales. Then, walk to Monument Point in Heisler park for chocolates at sunset. 3-6 p.m, OC Wildlife & Beach Tours (949) 500-6981

And, you have through Feb. 14th to secure tickets to Pageant of the Masters upcoming summer show, “The Big Picture.” Just $14 gets you Director’s Tier Side tickets, and that’s a pretty attractive view! Call the Pageant at (800) 487-3378
