OK, we all know that Pro Skimboarder Brandon Rothe is also a heck of an artist. Brandon’s work is everywhere in Laguna Beach, including some of the skimboard aisle signage at the Whole Foods store downtown.
[singlepic id=559 w=320 h=240 float=right]So, last month when Rothe created a new sign for Laguna Canyon-based Victoria Skimboards (who’s also his pro sponsor), the sign made big news in the skimboard community… so big, in fact, that someone out there decided to yank this work of art for his or her own art collection.
Yep. Last night, some sorta Grinch carted off the 8-foot, bright yellow Victoria Skimboard sign.
I don’t know about you, but considering its dimensions, this isn’t really a van Gogh that can easily be hidden in an attic footlocker. So, keep your eyes and ears open please. Tex Haines, the founder of Victoria Skimboards, says he’ll be happy to see its return, no questions asked.
