Danny Ching, whom many think is a mere reincarnation of Neptune himself, held his title from last year by solidly placing first well ahead of the pack. I know Danny from my outrigger days, as he dominated the field in both team and individual outrigger racing.

The Women’s Elite Racer was Jenny Kalmach, and it was a surprise to see so many elite women on the beach – many of whom completed the race ahead of their elite racing male peers! Go girlies!

I’ll be at the A Street Skimboard contest today in Balboa, but the racing continues at Dohney today – Sunday, Oct. 3rd. Get down there and see the fastest-growing water sport in the world today!
