Five years ago, this little Laguna Beach reggae event started as a birthday celebration and tribute to Bob Marley (his birthday is Feb. 6th). As bands began to join the “One Love” celebration, the event became a “festival,” attracting some of the most renowned reggae bands in the California scene.
This Valentine’s Day 2011, our little Reggae town of Laguna Beach welcomes Grammy Award nominated Pato Banton (Best Reggae Album), the fabulous Rebel Rockers, and classic favorites World Anthem. Better still, the evening’s MC is the renowned poet and story teller John Gardiner.
The direction of the concert is completely based on the feedback these groups receive from the audience, so there is no fixed set list. And, as the event suggests, “If no woman (or no man), no cry!” Come as a single, as a couple or get a gang of buddies together for this popular little LOVE Fest, Laguna-Beach style.
As the case in previous years…This year’s festival was “sublime,” all aspects converged into the night to create the realization of Bob Marley’s “ONE LOVE” dream, truly a real to life “LOVE CENTRAL!!!”
