Each year in March, our neighboring Ocean Institute in the Dana Point Harbor puts on a fabulous 2-day Jazz Festival. It’s the non-profit organization’s largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds benefitting OI’s Adopt-A-Class program, which bring underserved students to the Ocean Institute for hands-on immersion in whale watching, tall ships sailing, fun educational workshops and more.
Tickets have JUST gone on sale for the March 1st & 2nd event, and they sell out extremely quickly. This year, Jeffrey Osborne is just one of the many greats on the jazz docket and the setting is sublime – it’s no wonder they sell out so far in advance. Friday Night Is Foodie Love
Friday night, March 1st, kicks off the event with a 5:30 p.m. VIP Reception and Artist Meet-and-Greet. From 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., area chefs will be showcasing foodie bites and, from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m., it’s the jazz performance with a live auction. As has proven in the past, a cadre of significantly talented chefs show up on Friday night. Tickets are $75 and VIP Experience tickets are $250, which include the exclusive reception and premier seating.
Saturday Night Gala
On Saturday night, March 2nd, it’s the Institute’s gala dinner with a 5-course gourmet dinner while guests listen to live jazz and participate, again, in a live auction.
Monarch Beach Resort is this year’s Premier Catering Sponsor, so Executive Chef Collin Thorton will be creating two of the gourmet courses at Saturday night’s gala dinner. Additionally, chefs from our own Montage Laguna Beach and The Ranch at Laguna Beach also will be participating.
Gala tickets are $500 with table purchases at $5,000.
