Restaurants in Laguna Beach: A Decade in Review, Part I
Part I – Total Number of Restaurants in Laguna Beach Now vs. 2010 and What They’re All About When I started writing TheBestofLagunaBeach.com back in 2006, I was just interested in getting to know our chefs and restaurants in town. I had no idea that so much would...
Scott McIntosh’s Two Popular Restaurants Concepts are Expanding (In More Ways Than One)
Eleven months ago, Restaurateur Scott McIntosh was ready to leap into action with two large expansions of his restaurant brands, Reunion Kitchen and Asada Cantina + Kitchen, at the San Clemente outlet mall. At that time, he trotted me around the vast expanse, pointing...

Best breakfast and sandwiches at The Orange Inn
The Laguna Beach Orange Inn is one of the few breakfast joints in town that many locals grew up with here in Laguna Beach. These diehard fans are still regulars and now bringing in their own generation of grom kids.
Laguna Beach’s Lumberyard Restaurant a solid hit all around
[singlepic id=158 w=320 h=240 mode=watermark float=left]Laguna Beach's new Lumberyard Restaurant is within weeks of celebrating its 1-year anniversary. Happily, despite opening its doors at about the same time the world markets decided to freefall, this Laguna Beach...
Cafe Picayo in Laguna Beach offers sumptuous food
Fair warning – “sumptuous” doesn’t come close to the word “diet” in any dictionary, least of all Cafe Picayo’s in Laguna Beach’s Boat Canyon on the north side of town. This is complex, imaginative food whose menu first started with French master chef Laurent Brazier 14 years ago, and only got better as it has expanded in the hands of Chef Francois this last year. It’s a phenomenal mix of French recipes with Mediterranean touches.
Laguna Beach best lobster dinner – Coyote Grill
In October in Laguna Beach, it’s all about the lobster … for the month’s duration, you’ll find us standing on street corners in South Laguna, anxiously awaiting the unfurling of the “Local Lobster” banner at Coyote Grill. These babies are done “Baja Grilled” style and you’ll be hard pressed to find anything along the entire coastal Baja region that tastes better than this Coyote Grill specialty.
$10 plates at Mozambique feature best steak in Laguna Beach
We have a lot of great restaurants in Laguna Beach that serve up great cuts of beef, but there’s nothing like a Mozambique steak. Fortunately, the newly returned $10 plate special includes a chop house sirloin steak – you’re in luck!
Best Laguna Beach Coffee – Laguna Coffee of course!
Crowned at the top of my list is Laguna Coffee, a small shop tucked between Oak and Brook street on the north side of PCH. These folks roast their own coffee right there in the front room and, once you’ve tasted their smooth blends, you’ll be buying pounds of coffee to tuck in your suitcase for the kitchen back home … and a few friends’ kitchens, too.

Laguna Beach Hotel, Surf and Sand, Introduces Pancake Breakfast
